Feeling around for something to power my SSD

There is a good possibility all these things are correct.
I know for sure it'll strain your electrical less, sound better (maybe inaudible difference, but still)
Ah thanks for quoting that, I remembered something.

Will there be absolutely no difference in the amount of power I will be able to feed my subwoofer for thermal or mechanical reasons, even if in very regulated amounts of time?

I presume I have my driver in a small enough box that over excursion will not be an issue, within reason of course.

Something else, JimJ is advising I should run my SSD at only about 500w over at SSA (they are taking too long to answer though and I'm an impatient kind of person). Why would I want to do this? The driver is rated at 800w and I have the copper coil in a small volume box. As far as I know, all signs point to feed this thing more power.

I won't be powering the sub over it's rms. Maybe even 50-100w lower, but I want a 1000w amp so that I can send the driver a clean signal and have the power for future upgrades. I like to think ahead.

You should be fine giving an SSD 1k watts.

I would also recommend a SAE-1000D. Jakes customer service is top notch and it is a solid amp.

Your major difference will be in the price to quality ratio. At 4 ohms the amp will be a bit more efficient and will have less THD, but will be a fair amount more cost wise. On the other hand, a solid 1 ohm amp will audibly sound just and nice and be fairly gentle on your electrical system anyways.
