I'm thinking about just keeping my Avalanches until Spring since the weather outside hasn't gotten nice enough to do any uninstall/re-install work, so I may be selling the 13w7 I got from ebay. There are two "problems" with the 13w7. The first one is a small tear (about 1") in the surround that should not effect the performance at all, and you can silicon it if you want. The second problem is that it's missing the clamp ring, which can be bought from any JL dealer for $20-25. Not really interested in anything for trade unless you have some high-end components.

My AIM is dgoldenzVT and my email address is dgoldenz@vt.edu. Here's pictures:

There shouldn't be any problem getting the ring. Also of note, the serial numbers are intact, so it was bought authorized by whoever had it before me.

And for the record to the lowballers.....NO, I will not sell it for $160. I did not have "retard" written across my forehead last time I checked.

you apparently don't understand how the system works. if I started a thread that says: MT18 FS, and i say you got it for 200 dollars w/ damage, why would i want to pay more than that? think about it, really. whether or not it affects anything is completely irrelevant to the amount paid, only to performance. that's like selling a car with key marks over it and dents everywhere and trying to get more just because the motor runs fine. think about it. you won't get much more than what you spent.

Thank for helping me get my point across, I tried explaining this earlier.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/handclap.gif.0c301076f534e244f0460706894f19e0.gif

But...it's not damaged. It has one small surround tear (purely cosmetic) that doesn't effect performance whatsoever, and is missing a $25 clamp ring. Tell me how this is different than any other normally functioning 13w7? Check ebay if you want a 13w7 for $200. Buy yourself a blown one and get it reconed for $250 rather than trying to prove your point in my thread. This one works perfectly fine and I expect an offer that justifies that. It isn't my fault the guy on ebay wasn't smart enough to get a multimeter and find out for himself if it was blown or not.

Your damaged car comparison has no validation. You're talking about two completely different things.

Bottom line, if you want a show install, then don't buy it. If you want something that sounds great and dont care about how it looks, then it's a great sub for you. Either way, stop dumping on my post, thanks.

you do know that the clamp ring is what keeps the surround in place. and without it I don't think you can play it... i would say that is the big difference between yours and a working W7.

dude i'm not trying to put you down, i'm informing you as to why people aren't offering up gobs of cash. you shouldn't get offended while i'm trying to help you make money. essentially what we are telling you is that either:

a. don't expect what you think it's worth

b. sell it someplace else (ebay would probably bring in some cash if you can talk it up well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif )

sorry if that came off wrong.

Look are you guys retarded or just trying to lowball. HE GOT A GREAT DEAL!!! Its his perogative to sell it for his price. Its a W7 for gods sake. Quit given him crap and either bid, give an offer, or shut the hell up!! Its a great buy if you're interested.

I hate how retarded some folks are, some joke...but some are serious. Just because this dude paid $150, doesnt mean he has to sell it(will sell it for) for $150. He took a gamble and got a dub7 for $150.... one that works. gl with the sale man
