well i didn't notice until i started to remove the surround from my newly acquired 15" rl-pbasket & motor that it has 2 cracks that will result in ~3" of the basket falling off. I figure since it's just the basket i'm not even gonna bother with filing a complaint and am hoping that the seller will help with getting one, BUT

the real question is, should i contact SS about getting a rl-p basket or is there someplace else that i could look into. Honestly i don't really care about getting a 4spoke basket, although it is rather sexy.

assuming i could get a basket for pretty cheap i'd much rather start fresh but if "majority rules" then i may give it a shot.

You do know that you'll have to get a whole new soft parts assembly right? Then do a recone... I'd file a claim if I were you.

A broken basket is HARDLY no big deal.

You can try JBWELD too, it might work.

i'll give JBweld a shot i guess since no one has chimed in saying it's a horrible idea.

BTW since no pics, it's broke just about 1/4" before one of the spokes and ~3" long.

see that is what i though. 100for a basket for a sub i can get for 175. I already have to wait to order, and get the recone so i'm in no big hurry.

I think the people who recommended JBweld, thought that you have a working sub.

But if you are going to do a recone there is no point in starting off with crap. Get a new basket and recone from TC sounds.
