Fed up with friend's '05 Civic

I've been trying for 3 days to get the factory headunit out of my friends 2005 Civic Coupe. I've looked at every single guide I could find on the internet and nothing is working. I'm thinking there was a change from '04-'05 and that's why none of the how-to's are helping. Is there anyone here in or around Sacramento that may be able to help? All I need is the factory headunit removed, I've wired everything else already.

Have you thrown anything yet? These cars are a PITA IIRC. The center console has to come out first, around the gearshift, then the console, then way up under the head there should be a couple of bolts to remove. They bezel piece in the center console is held on with snaps that move to the side instead of up and down, thus the center console bezel comes apart by moving the edges to the outside of the vehicle rather than straight up. If I have the time later I'll check my notes and post up some more info.

If it were my car I would have already started breaking panels off. I've got a general understanding of what panels need to come off, I just have no idea HOW they come off.

The picture showed me what to take apart, I just don't know how to take those pieces off. Everything has different clips and it's next to impossible to figure out what is holding what together.

You have to have oriental-sized hands //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The clips are pretty hard to take off.

If you have a Tap Plastics or Home Depot near you, you can find a plastic wedge or plastic panel popper that will help you remove the console without scratching the dash.

It's basically two 8mm underneath the dash that holds the dash in. Once you get those out, push from the back, and start from the bottom of the dash to take it apart.
