Favorite MLB Team

I pretty much did the same as him, but when I was in hs. At first I was closer, I never blew a save. Then our number 2 pitcher went down, and I came in, threw a 5 hit shut-out, and ever since that game I started the rest of my hs career. Usually when I pitched, if I didn't give up runs in the first two innings, you could almost bet your house on it that I would not give up any the rest of the game. I usually started out slow, then got better as the game went on. Was the opposite when I was a closer though, came on strong, then got more vulnerable the longer I pitched.

I was a closer in high school...my arm cant last more than 2-3 innings or 45 pitches, usually whichever came first. I was more of a speed pitcher I threw 88-90 on warm days...the thing that helped me out the most was my knuckleball. I threw it as a change-up, and not as a main-pitch like some people these days (Steve Sparks and Tim Wakefield)

Crazy, I threw a knuckle ball too. I could never figure out how to throw a change up, so I started throwing a knuckle, my first ever knuckle ball in a game got knocked out for a grand slam. That was the only hit I ever gave up off a knuckler and I threw at least 5-8 in a game. Fastball (mid 80's 86 tops I think) consistently hit 83. I also threw a big hooking curveball that started at the batters head and swooped to the outside corner of the plate, also threw a slider. Was developing a sinker, but never threw it in a game, it was so nasty too. Just needed to get control, I gripped it with my middle and ring finger kinda like a knuckle, and when i threw it, I pushed my fingers out, to give it that downward rotation.

When I was younger, my curve never curved, it always sunk. I started using it more and more and when I was in 10th grade my coach taught me a differennt way to through a curve and it worked so I had developed a sinker at a young age. My knuckle was my only pitch below 70 mph (about 62-64) and I threw it either overhand or from the side. I loved windy days when I pitched!!! As for the slider, mine was never too strong, but my splitter was about average...

I got to throw in my favorite Reds or more to the point the Griffster. Met him and his brother Craig when I made I brief stint with the San bernandino spirits several years ago. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Is there something about pitching that turns you to Car audio. I to used to pitch. Played for the hurricanes in college. Had to keep in shape for football. Blew out my knee in football. Had to stop playing. So baseball became my mainstay. I grew up in Tampa Florida. We played against a pretty strong pitcer back then by the name Dwight Gooden. He was throwing 100 mph coming out of high school !!!! And surprisingly he could hit pretty well also. When he played fot the mets he was great. Then got into he drugs and down the tubes he went //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Yes sir, I remember Dwight Goodens No Hitter. I was in Disney World at the time. Then he was turned to drugs like Daryll Strawberry...sad isn't it.

I just don't understand why these players making tons of money want to throw their whole dream away. You dream of playing in the majors your entire life, then you get there and want to throw it away, plus make a fool of yourself in the process. To throw another name into the equation, I can't remember for sure but I believe Jose Canseco got into drugs, and ever since he hasn't been the same.

Jose Canseco is the most self-absorbed person in the world. He charges kids for autographs!!! If I had went to the majors, I would have been delighted to take 2 seconds out of my day to make a kids whole day!

That bastard charges kids? I can't believe that, as if he wasn't making enough money to begin with. That pill poppin SOB. I used to like the A's back in the day of the Bash Brothers, then Canseco started taking Speed or whatever drugs he was into and he took the Bash out of Brother. He couldn't perform worth a crap under pressure, remember the World Series against the Dogers and he was like 1 for 17 with a homerun. Another @ss in the world of sports is Sterling Sharpe, I've heard so many stories about him it's ridiculous. Anyways to end this on a positive note. I took my College Placement Test today. I did very good on the English and Reading sections of the test, but I didn't do very well with the Math section. The funny part is, Math was my best subject, but since I've been out of school for 3 years, I'll need to take a refresher course. Instead of starting college in August, it looks like I'm going to have to start pretty soon here, to knock that class out of the way, and maybe a few others since I would rather do 2 classes as opposed to 1. Might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I hated physics, well maybe not physics by itself, just the teacher. He was some egg headed chump, just got out of college and thought he was a genious. I had a few confrontations with him about projects I did that I should have received a higher grade on, and came to the conclusion that it would be best to drop the class, or put on a wig and some makeup. No, I didn't do the wig deal, I dropped the class even though I had a 'B' average. I figured it wouldn't be long until I was down to a 'C' or worse, being that my grades for some reason kept getting lower.

Sorry, man that was like 7 years ago. Study and you will be fine!!! You can do it!!!

Phat, I know what you mean about teachers ruining a class, much like my AP English11 teacher who ruined reading for me for about 4-5 years.
