I pretty much did the same as him, but when I was in hs. At first I was closer, I never blew a save. Then our number 2 pitcher went down, and I came in, threw a 5 hit shut-out, and ever since that game I started the rest of my hs career. Usually when I pitched, if I didn't give up runs in the first two innings, you could almost bet your house on it that I would not give up any the rest of the game. I usually started out slow, then got better as the game went on. Was the opposite when I was a closer though, came on strong, then got more vulnerable the longer I pitched.
