What are some of your favorite headphones you either own or heard?

I just picked up a set of these like 2 hours ago...

EASILY the most "Bassy" headphones I have owned...they dig stupid low. Mids are pretty awesome and the highs are a bit harsh depending where the volume sits at...but I still have to eq my shit a bit.

The Skullcandy Smokin Buds are my favorite headphones, It's more about balance for me, even the mid range sennheiser over ears weren't good to my ears.
I'm not a fan of Skullcandy...nore in ear buds. I have the skullcrushers and they are fun for like an hour, after that you get bored of em (I still use them on long road trips when im not driving, could careless if they break)...

And I love sennheisers...I've owned like 5 pairs, i have 3 pairs left.

I have Beyerdynamic DT770 pro's and **** are the clear, bassy and beautiful. I have a set of Audio Technica in ear ones that have great bass and very good clarity.

Ive got 2 sets. My Shure SRH750DJ's and FocalPrice CK700 IEM's. I prefer my Shure's for pretty much everything except portability. The CK700's are highly regarded for having a V shaped signature, but I find the treble pitchy and the mids and lower end lacking.

May have to take a crack at those soon
An amp definitely makes them shine, there are two different versions. 250 ohm, and then 80 ohm. The 80 ohm you don't really need an amp but the 250 ohm you definitely need it for the best output.

The only headphones I own at the moment are my Shure SRH440s which are great for any music I can think of. They're not the greatest for gaming, but they're wonderful for some Tool.

There are three versions, the final one being 600 Ohm.

Did not know that. I guess when I was looking and bought mine I never came across the 600 ohm version.

i've made my own headphone amps typically, but at work i use this:

i fade between my iPad playing Pandora and my PC sound.

i've also used this, as a USB sound interface and headphone amp with the ability to adjust the mix between two sources

with this i had a mic running in addition to music. so i heard my music and the environment at a mixed level. it's an interesting effect.

I don't run any pre amps, I use a Creative X-Fi which works well for what I need it for, I just use it to Game/listen to music at night so my neighbors don't complain. I have a pair of sennheisers I use fro music production and Guitar.

my favorite headphones are my Sennheiser hd555's that have had the hd595 mod done to them.

i also have;

Sennheiser hd 205

digital designs dxb-01

beats by dre tour earbuds (gift)

and a set of sony noise cancelling headphones that i use when i mow my yard.

Oh, I guess I should say that I've listened to:

Panasonic RP-HTF600-S(actually amazing for the price; controlled, yet boosted bass that goes fairly low -- though I don't actually know how low, nice highs, and a slightly recessed midrange; I felt like the midrange was muted, but I understand that many people like recessed mids)

Logitech UE 600(I hate in ears, but these sounded crisp; I enjoyed what little time I gave them, even though I struggled with keeping them in my ears)

MEElectronics M9(again, I hate in ears; I didn't spend much time on them and hated them, but they were a gift to my sister so it didn't matter)

Audio-Technica M50(I'm sure most headphone users have heard these at some point; I prefer my SRH440s)

Various Beats by Dre at Best Buys near you -- which I hated

Various Bose at various stores near you -- which I hated

Various Turtle Beach headsets which I hated

Various Sony around the headphones which I loved at the time but hate now

I am also trying to decide what to buy next; I'm going to try a set of open headphones -- probably the HD650s, HD600s, or the SRH1440(SRH1840) from Shure's new open back line.

I'd give opinions of my sennheisers if i could find em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif They are nice though...Just dont know the model numbers off of the top of my head

I have a pair of Turtle Beach headphones I use with my 360 that I never play...The sound is sub par honestly.

I have some sony noise cancelling headphones which are alright on the midrange and kinda decent at the highs, the lows...**** lol. But the noise cancelling portion does a great job

Skullcandy Skullcrushers...As I stated before are more of a novelty. They have actual small subs in them which are battery powered. They are fun for an hour but sound quality ***** bawls

Logitech G930's...They are my primary headcans on my pc...picked em up for the wireless factor...They dont sound TOO shabby, All around they are pretty decent, they dont dig down low,Midrange is sweet,as well as the highs. But I get muffled sounds alot on music it was the main reason I picked up these new cans

The ones I got now are the MDR-XB500 Sony's...Like I stated it has STUPID lows I played "Gucci mane-I dont love her" and it feels like I was sitting in my car. Mids are great and the highs are awesome. Only part about the highs is if you do not have some sort of EQ they will be harsh at higher volumes. Over all I am going to say they are the best Headphones I own as of right now. They are a bit bulky though. But the sound quality is amazing for $40
