farad Capacitor question

do you really need 2 farad Capacitors for 2 subs or can't you just add up the rms for both subs and buy one farad Capacitor that is rated for that?

the rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000watts.

heres the easy way to solve voltage drop that will actually work:

big 3 upgrade and a new battery

i would never use a cap. they dont do anything to help in the first place. depending on how much power(rms) you have, you would be better off adding a smaller 2nd battery to run your amp/amps.

u should go by whatever your total RMS is. I would suggest buying an extra battery tho. u will actually come out cheaper and be in a better situation electrical wise.

you are going to want to use the rms rating of your amp too, not your subs

^^^this, for anything up to about 1.5k rms, +or- the big 3 upgrade should take care of. above that is where a 2nd battery will help on top of the big 3.

I used one in my car with a 6 channel amp fixed the dimming and helped the sub from becoming muddy at higher volumes. I would use them again.
