ive read that you can avoid using loc. by splicing rca into hu output wires.

my bose system uses external amp, so i believe i can use signal between hu and amp. i will measure how high it is.

my question is, rca has 2 wires in it, does it mater which is - and +? anycase the outside wire is -? and inside is +?

i had done that on my factory Toyota gear. I did have some ground thump when switching radio modes, but it was fairly minor. Some models (of Toyota radios) use a digital connection between the HU and amp, so this is not possible. I don't know is your bose is like that.

generally ground is the outside and positive in the inside just as you stated.

no, but i would advise using an adapter to get both the left and right signal into one rca.

Might even be better if you could get an external processor to read that digi-signal.. doubt it though.
