Factory head unit problems

I have a Cadillac SRX and there is a lot of information and settings that are tied to my factory NAV unit. I was planning on geting a 3sixty, but I am having second thoughts.

I found someone on cadillacforums that installed had an aftermarket HU installed, but he didn't have the NAV unit. His installer took out the ash trey, slid down the AC controls and put a head unit where that was.

I think I could either do that or just take out the in-dash cd changer and place a head unit there. I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

I'd just go with a 3Sixty. The factory nav unit would be nice and clean there, and the 3Sixty is a very powerful processor. It'd probably be cheaper, too.

I'd just go with a 3Sixty. The factory nav unit would be nice and clean there, and the 3Sixty is a very powerful processor. It'd probably be cheaper, too.

My concern here is that I keep seeing people with mixed results with the 3sixty. Since I don't do my own installs, I would like to get it right the first time. My local shop, like all shops, charges a lot for this kind of work, so I want to make sure I am happy with my results. It seems to me that it comes down to how clean your signal from the factory head unit is in the first place, and that is up in the air.

Ive had problems with my 3sixty.1 Sound quality is horrible and im using Rainbow speakers. Im going to send it back and get a refund. For me its causing too many problems. Id rather just have a aftermarket head unit directly controlling my speakers. No concerns of Factory sound - to processor - to crappy sound.

Did you ever try reversing the polarity of your speakers like you said you would in the other thread? You haven't given an update, but it doesn't sound good from this post.

Yeah, it was hooked up correctly. I can't tell you for certain if your 3.sixty will sound bad, but I'm almost certain I recieved a slightly botched/messed-up unit over ebay.
