how did you figure that out?

You have to subtract 1.5" (for 3/4" wood) from each dimension, to account for wood displacement. So 43.5 * 18 * 17.5 = 13702.5/1728 = 7.92 cubes

My bad, I put 7.2 originally, I guess I skipped that 9.....

yeah buddy do the math...its 9.6 cubes actually.....45x19.5x19=16672.5/1728=9.65 cubes...

I thought those were the external dimensions?

i'm assuming they are, so i calculated it like this

(43.5x18x17.5)/1728=7.9 cubes.
