I have a second one running on 2500rms (kicker kx2500.1) daily in my friends alero and its handling the power just fine. Not sure why you had problems, but i dont see any problem with someone throwing 1500-2500rms to it daily in the right box.
hmmm dunno .. i had one and had it in 1.7 @32 ported had a arc audio ks1000 on it and it toasted it JD replaced it and said that 1000 daily is pushing it and be careful imma try 2 of them on a US amps Md3d at .5 1400each

The box is a bit big for alot of power, 1.25-1.5 w/ 16" of port per cube would be plenty. The one i installed in my friends alero is 1.3ft^3 @ 34hz and its been running strong for about 3 months with out issues.

Ive owned the TSS series for over a year now and had no issues at 1000/woofer ! Its when i put a memphis 4k at.5 on 17+volts i had the problem detaching the spider plate from the basket . I was running 8 of these 10s in a wall with 4 memphis 4ks and 12 kinetik 16 volts , did 155+ at the dash @ 41hz. Putting 1500 on this sub isnt an issue , IMO . This set up also did the 149.9 class with 2 locked up subs . Very strong subs , cant wait til i get my new ones from JD ...........
