F-ing A. how to fix window rattle?

ok car and set up in sig. well if you know anything about explorer you know they got the back window with a latch in the middle. well these subs are so **** loud and create so much pressue, it makes my back window move off the rear hatch, as well as my 2 side windows, the little flip out ones. all the windows like flex almost on some songs. well here is the problem. my friend yesterday told me when he was behind me in his car that my back window rattles to shit. sure enough i pull over and bump it, and the back window sounds like its gonna fall off. imagaine the worse rattling you have ever heard, now add a glass sound to it, and thats what it sounds like. im afraid im gonna crack the window if i keep doing this. cause to make that sound its gonna be hitting something most likely. but even when my friend and me tried to hold down the window with all the strength we had, our hands vibrated to shit and the window STILL rattled. anyone fix this on their explorer? i mean it was bad on my last explorer but now with 2 15's its gettin a little ridiculous. please help

weatherstripping. put weatherstripping between the glass all the way around..

i was thinkin weatherstripping but would i still be able to close my rear window? its kind of thick stuff and the glass almost sits flush with the hatch.

Is it the window, or the license plate? I thought it was the window in my jeep too! But it turned out to be the latch on the inside of the door. I had to take off all the paneling on the door, then secured all the moving parts inside with rubberbands, tape, ect. Then I put some tape around the metal latch itself. VIOLA! No more rattles. License plate was secured too.

yea it will, its like a cushion it'll let it close and it'll stop the glass from hitting off the metal or whatever else.

yea its the window. i can phyisically see the window move off the hatch and then come back down onto it. BUT i do know that in my last explorer the latch rattled, and some stuff inside the hatch rattled. and on this explorer the 98's dont have a latch anymore they got a button so thats doesnt rattle BUT some stuff on the inside does rattle and that will be taken care of with a little more time. as for right now though, im concerned about the window since if it keeps slammin down against it its gonna break, crack, chip or something...hmm at least i can say my subs broke my window then like all the "cool" kids on these forums haha.

jt: thanks man, ill give that a shot today most likely. hopefully home depot or lowes is open on thanksgiving.

the best solution would probably be to get some of the glue they use to hold in windows like windshields, and the stationary side windows, and glue them f*ckers shut, depending on how much you use the back pop out windows, and the rear window, but if they don't move then they cant rattle. as soon as it gets warmer, i'm gluing my side pop up windows down.

you know whats funny too, i hate rattles with a passion and when im bumping i feel sad for the peopel that have to listen to mine. oh well ill get rid of them soon enough

i have the same problem in my expedition, stupid ford!!!

im gonna go out and buy some of that tape today, and let you guys know if it works any good....

No, the simple answer is: You are screwed. I wouldnt worry about it breaking though.

the foam weatherstrippin should stop whatever is making the noise from being able to vibrate on each other though.. so i would try it.
