I have a crazy story i just remembered. My friend from work had some extra audio stuff, so he loaned it to another kid that he knew. this kid just got his Gmc jimmy like a few weeks ago. he wanted anything at all for some bass, crappy or not. so they installed everything in his jimmy. HU, jensen amp, custom box & 15" audiobahn. well this kid prolly wasnt too bright so i assume he was bumping it when he went into Apopka late at night (very bad neighborhood). he went to a grocery store. He wasnt in the store for more than 10mins at the MOST. came back out, what do you know thieves hit. they broke his driver window, stole his HU, smashed alot of things up while doing it. then they opened the hatch, stole his sub & box. but the funniest thing in the world is they DIDNT steal the Jensen amp!! :hilarious the thieves were probably experienced since it happend so fast and knew jensen sucked major balls. well remember none of this stuff was the kid that owned the truck. so my friend who owns the stuff didnt care about loaning it out, but then told the kid who owns the truck that he needs to pay for everything they stole. this was never discussed in the loaning process so they definitely had a huge argument. as far as i know the kid wont pay him any money for the stolen equipment. i heard his window and fixing of stuff they thieves damaged was over $300 alone. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

i got a better idea. instead of trying to make the audio equipment hard to steal, make the car impossible to get into. shaved door handles, lexan windows, and alarm with a backup battery specifically for the alarm? maybe make it so that if the alarm goes off, it somehow sends the voltage through the car and uses the next guy that touches it the ground? give em a nasty shock. my dad dropped a wrench across the battery terminals once and welded the wrench to it, so i'm sure that you could fry a guy from the inside out. although you may have some legal issues with that one.

Of course lock your door and don't leave anything visible in the car. Take your fave plate off if you can

Park somewhere visible.

Do advertise your system to the world ( showing it off to everyone, pulling up to the mall or local threater beating hard )

****a little trick that I use. Take a factory HU and remove the faceplate. After parking and removing your HU faceplate, secure the factory HU faceplate over your aftermarket one.****

does any one know how well the eclipse ESP (i think that's it) security system is as far as keeping thieves from stealing it. compare it to faceplate removal plz. thnx

maybe im repeating but i dont think i saw it mentionedd......fill your screw heads with solder....havent tried it but i dont see why it wouldnt work well....

Oh Yea!! If you have an alarm add maybe an extra siren/horn in the trunk so when they are trying to work in the trunk a siren will be wailing his ears and making him deaf in the process!
Ever see the alarm system with the flames out the side?

also, you could always install a piezo horn inside the car that makes a high pitched noise when the alarm is set off, making it unbearable in the car.
