Explorer Vs. Excursion... Which would you buy?

Well... Heres the basics of the story. I own a 2003 Eddie Bauer explorer. Loaded with everything, 4.0l v6, 115k miles. I found a local guy looking to get rid of his 2000 Ford Excursion, 88k miles, limited model, 6.8l V10 Engine. Both cars 4wd, and the blue book values are not too far off. Looking for a dead even swap. No cash on either part. Based on the 2 vehicles alone, which would you guys go for? Keep my Explorer, or swap it out for the Excursion?

What are you going to use an Excursion for?? Those things are like miniature tanks.. Presonally my friend has a 2003 Eddie Bauer explorer and id rather drive that than a huge beast.. but then again its a v10.. lol

I have no out of the ordinary use for it, other than a daily driver. Ive heard the gas mileage isnt great, but im only seeing about 12-14 on my explorer. So gas really doesnt seem like much of an issue.

Are you a soccer mom? like are you driving 10 people around at a time? if not i think the Explorer would be better you wouldnt think it but 2 less MPG is a hell of a lot in the long run. and the explorer are kind of quick to haha

get the excursion. everyone wants a V-10. and load it down.

My pros and cons to this =

Pros

- Bigger vehicle, personally i like something big to get noticed.

- V-10, a nasty exhaust would be nice

Cons

- Gas miliage is going down.

I honestly love excursions but i would never have a gas one, im a diesel fan and i want a diesel excursion but i would still get it instead of the explorer.

Yes it is. There is a number of things that you can do to improve the speed. Exhaust, Intake, Throttle Body Spacers, ECU controller, etc...
