Experts, need help with components for an Integra please

Hi all, I would really appreciate the help of any knowledgeable installers and afficionados.

I'm buying a 1997 Integra GS coupe, and need components for it. My problem is that I can't get a read on what size I should use for installation in the stock location. Crutchfield, MMxpress, and Sounddomain all tell me different things. Anyone know what limitations I'm facing here?

I'm looking to spend about $300-450 for the set and have an a/d/s 120x2 for power with an Alpine source unit. I prefer SQ speaks, usually with silk domes where possible. I used to use DEI 3065s and enjoyed them very much, to give you an idea of what I like from a speaker.

Due to availability, I've limited my brands to these (though I'll entertain any opinions):

Alpine

JL Audio

MB Quart

Boston Acoustics

Kicker

I think I'm leaning to the JLs or the Bostons, but don't know if I can fit them.

Focal Kevlars- $300

If you can spot the extra $50, might as well get some Focal Utopias for $500.

I'd look into the diamond audio hex comp set and the cdt hd series.

I've heard the JBL GTi comp sets are nice and the boston pros are great as well... listen to the infinity perfects you might like those too.

You can fit pretty much any 6.5" speaker in your doors, but you will have to make a baffle so the speaker clears the window in the down position, easy to do though.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'd love the Focals, but getting Focals locally in Miami is pretty much impossible.

I listed those specific brands because those are the ones I can get locally in Miami through Sound Advice (I can get other brands, namely a/d/s, but I like the Sound Advice chain's reinstallation policy and wanted to see if I could keep my business with them)

Any comments on the brands I listed in the first post? What do you guys think about the JL XRs or the Boston Pros?

About the baffles, can you explain in a bit more detail how I'd go about that? If it's really an easy job, I'd consider doing it myself, but I remember installing the DEI 3065s in my current Civic, and that turned into a mess. The DEIs were too large to fit in the stock 6.5" openings so I had to get creative with a Dremel. I hope I never have to do that again.

If I could do it myself, that would give me more options.

Any other suggestions?

just get a 1/4-1/2 thick piece of wood or something sturdy... my dad had some red fiberglass sheets in his shop and we cut a hole in it for the speaker and mounted it to the door... then put the speaker on the baffle and screwed into it

Boston Pro's would be my choice. Even the Rally Components sound decent for only $200. I had a set in my integra and they were so crisp and loud it was unbelieveable. I didn't even think those speakers had that ability to reproduce sound like they did. I especially love the Neo3 tweeters. But if you have the money, I would get the pros.

For that price, Diamond Audio, Eclipse, Focal, and Dnaudio all would sound better than at least the Alpine, JL, MB Quart, and Kicker (kicker and Alpine = poopy components)

Making your own components to tailor your own needs is also a good idea. You can go to http://www.partsexpress.com and look at Vifa, Scan-Speak, and Peerless. All of these companies make great sounding component parts.

Otherwise, the best you listed above are the Boston's. However, for that money you could get a nice set of ADS, Focal, Diamond, or CDT components. RE components wouldn't be a bad choice either. If you are lucky to have 5 1/4" openings, check out stereo integrity comps. http://www.stereointegrity.com
