Experience with audiopipe amps?

So, my audiopipe AP 1000.1d arrived today after much anticipation. But when I pulled it out, it was surprisingly small for what I expected (approx 7'' x 12''). This is a budget amp and I'll only be using it for about 3 months max until I can scrape up more money for something better. But it will suffice for now. I've heard mixed things about audiopipe's amps.

I went with this for the time being because a friend of mine runs his BTL on one and it sounds great.. atleast to my ears. He's had it for about a year now and he loves it. But he's the only person I've ever known with audiopipe anything, so I'm not that familiar with their products. I've also heard some not-so-good things about audiopipe too.

With that being said, I haven't had much time to hook it all up yet, so I figured I'd get some opinions before I get this all up and running. Also, I'll be running this on a Fi BL 18''

Audiopipe anyone?

Everyone uses them for cheap power. I heard some of there higher end subs too and they sound ok for the price. I dont see why not if youre satisfied. 150 for 1.5kw is a good deal. I havent seen any threads about them blowing or anything. Just treat it right

i just burnt one of mine. major burn job i was at a comp in northern ohio and i was setting up for qualifing i have two 3000.1 i was addjusting them one at a time to get the most out of them for spl. what happend was that i pulled the rca jacks out of one 3000.1 so that i could tune the other one. i guess i should have unhooked the remote wire insted because the damm thing smoked setting there with power on it and no rca jacks.

^ it will NOT smoke powered up with no rca's plugged into it. you must have another problem.

i have installed ALOT of ap amps and havent had a single failure in the 5yrs of installing them. that may give you a clue of reliability. strong amps that last...

I'm using 2 now and had an ap15001d in december. never had a problem with any of mine. my current ap18001d only went into protect once for 5 seconds when i was clipping on a burp and accidentally changed the source and it tried playing music :/. after pausing it, it cut back on. they are efficient too, they don't **** current like some amps. they don't sound the greatest, but its definitely not dirty power

Don't let the size fool you. My bro recently picked up a pair of AP 1500, and they seem to be running good! The sound clarity from it seems good as well. i will say they are very touchy with going into protection if the ohm load drops to low.

update: Originally got the amp in about 3 weeks ago. And, of course, the amp doesn't work. We tried it in my car, and my buddy's car who was helping with the install. I was not happy. But I got a new one with no problems and it just got in yesterday evening. So once I get a line output converter, shits hitting the fan.

will post with results soon.

wat the f,dirty power, its going to your sub, plus ive owned several, even got the aqx 3500.1 now and all worked great, plus i had a fosgate 1000.1 bd before the 1800ap,i couldnt tell no difference in how it sounded, except the 1800 was louder.and just as clean
