Expandable foam is the ****

I did my back doors today. Put one full layer of Damp Pro on the inside of the outer skin (the part that flexes) and then I filled a good bit of the door with Great Stuff expandable foam. These doors DO NOT MOVE!!!! They used to flap like bird wings running my 4 OA 15s but now there is no flex at all.

I did the same thing to my roof. Put damp pro all over it and foamed the braces and all the open spaces and the roof does still flex a little but you can't hear it at all.

I'm close to being rattle free... I need to figure out what is rattling in my back wall area. You can only hear it on the outside and it only happens when the doors are closed so I'm thinking the doors transfer power to something in the back. I can't see anything on the outside that's moving so I guess it's something inside the back wall.

But yeah Damp Pro + Foam ftw baby

How does this work? Is it sprayable?
Yeah you can buy it in Home Depot. It's called Great Stuff. It's sprayable foam that expands and hardens. You spray it in between two panels like I did with the door and once it hardens they can't move. But if you use this stuff do not underestimate how much it will expand especially if you are spraying it in a small place. With big areas like the door you need to spray a lot but in small places like the tiny holes in roof braces you do not want to use too much because once it expands it will warp the roof and also be dripping for a good couple of days until all the extra foam you sprayed is out the hole.

You left channels in the door for drainage, right? Doors will get water in them from rain and that water is supposed to drain out the bottom. If you block those holes you're going to have water damage issues and mold problems.

I just now went outside and used my knife to un foam those holes. There's only one little oval shaped hole at the bottom of the door so I just cut out all the foam around there. Thanks.

thats not good enough. you will still have places were it cant drain.
big scott's right. There's no point of cutting out a small piece at the bottom if there's two feet of foam between water and where you cut. Short of tearing it all out and starting again, I'd recommend creating a valley, or a v-shape slope at the top so the water drains towards one spot and then cut a channel down to that hole, like a cocktail glass.

show us some pics.
