Do exhaust tips actually serve any purpose? do they make the car sound different?...or do people just buy them for the look?

They are just for look and some people think that they are emitting some cool noise from the rear of their car when in actuality it sounds like a beefed up lawnmower. . .

The bigger the tip, the better 5"-8" in diameter will make you sound like a weed-eater and thats awsome. Although, I bet(hope) your not a ricer so anywhere from a 2-3" in diameter tip should do you well.

lol. Come on ss, I was thinking more along the lines of a 10"-12" tip.
