excuse my ignorance...

but why would you necessarily need an active x-over if the amp has one built in? Couldn't you just set the outputs to whatever frequency you want straight off of the amp to the speakers? I know I'm probably way off base here, but someone plz explain...thx.

Then...shouldn't it work the same as an external x-over? sounds too simple...there's surely a reason why you'd wanna separate the frequencies before the amp. it just seems that a good amp would be able to do the job too. Remember when even the mono/sub amps had no built-in x-over? i do...and that's about the last time I ever used an active x-over ('91/'92, lol!)
