I KNOW they're kidding with those prices. There is not a subwoofer on the market worth that much, let alone for the 12's price.
They are going to be needing to at the least halve those prices. They can't be that good. DD, Sundown, DC, RD, RE, no one charges those sorts of prices.yea they are but thats msrp. i just eamiled them about pricing no reply yet1 so well see what happens!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
yea better be half or they will never get buisness!! yea we only know if we try bc this is only good vid of the sub and realy know one else knows what there doing that has them! lolThey are going to be needing to at the least halve those prices. No but see, unlike most SQ subs or innovative technologies, nothing on those even begins to hint as to how the materials and labor cost anywhere near that.yea they are but thats msrp. i just eamiled them about pricing no reply yet1 so well see what happens!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
wouldnt take these as sq subs really1 i know the st 1600 and street general is for spl!!No but see, unlike most SQ subs or innovative technologies, nothing on those even begins to hint as to how the materials and labor cost anywhere near that.
The retail price is right in line with other companies' top tier subs...Super Heavyweight, DD 9900's, DC LVL5's, etc. I think the LVL5 is the cheapest out of them all. But I know the MSRP on the 18" SHW is 1400, and I'm sure an 18" 9900 retails at over a grand as well, since 9518's cost in the 600-700 range direct, not even msrp. They are going to be needing to at the least halve those prices. Granted, the BMA sub looks just like a standard big woofer, nothing to set it apart from the herd.
why do you care so much? ssackett can build you the same sub with that cookie cutter triple slug mottor for like 225....why are you pushing these subs soo hard? youd spend 500$ on there 12 just to try it out? if they were that great you wouldnt be the first to see them or find themyea better be half or they will never get buisness!! yea we only know if we try bc this is only good vid of the sub and realy know one else knows what there doing that has them! lol
Did I say I agree with their prices? I'm sorry to break it to all of the fanboys out here, but there is very little special about most of your "high end" subwoofers. All you end up doing is paying for bigger motors, and beefier soft parts. At heart, they're still cookie cutter speakers using relatively the same technologies. It's companies like TC Sounds, Peerless, CSS, Morel, Focal, Aura and Bully when they were in business that were actually making serious innovations in driver design. These are the companies that are trying to maximize everything about a speaker, not just make it louder. Lowering inductance by changing the way faraday rings were utilized, raising cooling, maximizing linearity through asymmetrical voice coil winding, etc. Making the be all end all SPL woofer doesn't require any tricky technologies to allow your sub to play flat from 60hz to 10hz like a SS RL-S can. You're just paying to know that it can take god knows how many kilowatts and still survive. The retail price is right in line with other companies' top tier subs...Super Heavyweight, DD 9900's, DC LVL5's, etc. I think the LVL5 is the cheapest out of them all.
