Well if she was going to be an independent rep then she wouldnt really be working for the company but contracting instead.

I have never heard of Excel but I dont doubt they exsist. Are they a Resaler or do they have actual networks? Not many companies have there on networks but there are probably a million that are resalers

I researched the company and I will tell you a bit about these types of companies. This company is a resaler which means they sell service to people on other phone companies networks. Large phone companies like SBC (an actual phone company with there own network) are federaly regulated very strictly. Companies like Excel (resalers) are not. Resalers sell service to people over other companies networks. The FCC makes SBC sell service to a resaler below cost so that the resaler can turn around and sell it to a customer that has had the SBC service cut for non pay for a profit. And when somebody orders a phone line from a resaler in the area that I work I am still the one (SBC Tech) that will go turn it on and work on the line even though the enduser is paying some other company and we (SBC) are not making any profit off of it. It still all comes from our (SBC)network. There is a lot more involved to it then just that. but that may give you an idea.

****it stay away! I did it, I was a rep...sounds wonderful in theory, got screwed badly, ended up in a big mess at first due to technical issues w/their end that kept me from gaining customers and then w/them taking months to pay me owed money...its shite.

I'd rather whip a wet llama with a folding chair than have anything even remotely to do with Excel.

Back in 97/98 I actually had Excel for an ISP, the rep told me everything but the truth. Complete Mis-representation and dishonesty. Extremely sub-standard service as well.

Fun just got better when I called them, as their customer support was rude, and also very dishonest.

All in all after just 2 months of service, Excel screwed me out of $600+ dollars by mis-representing their service to me on a consistant basis.

I'd highly suggest staying clear of this "company."

Yeah dude companies like that dont pay there bills and screw a lot of other companies over and also customers and contractors/employees. They will go for so long until they have a lot of lawsuits then file bankruptcy and start under a new name and do it for another 10 or so years.
