Exactly how much power can a BTL take daily?

ive got a memphis 4k on the way and ill be picking up a new BTL18 (fully loaded)

how much can i really pump into this ****er?

it'll be daily in around an 8 cf box tuned pretty low (32 ish)

what do you guys think?

it can take 4k. i just dont know how long i would play them at full tilt. i dont think it can take 4k non stop. prolly have to let it cool off

if you tune the amp right and dont clip or distort the sub at all, it'll do it all the live long day.

daily, as in driving around town for fulltilt or near it probably about 2500rms to 3000rms for a couple songs or so. I wouldnt play it on a 3 hr road trip constantly feeding it more then 2500rms or so.

any coil will heat up no matter how big it is or how well built the motor is, its all depends on how long you plan on feeding it more then 2k.

I gave mine 2500 and beat on it for almost a year until it was toast. There were some other issues with my problem though.

are you set on a BTL? I've heard some very good things about the RD Heavyweight V2s and they should take 4K all day. But then again, they are probably more expensive than the BTL. Just a thought.

im not quite set on a btl but i cant seem to find a price on a heavyweight 18

so far my options are:

BTL

Nightshade

Death Penalty

really any 18" that can take 2k or more in the 500 dollar range

i have a btl.. the nightshades are very nice.. my btl gets hot on 2500..
