EWWW...What's that smell?

Just put in 2 brand new type r's off of a orion1200, i set my gains using a o scope so i know im not clipping. There is a somewhat strong electrical smell when i turn it up. I turned it to the volume i used to set my gains and all that, i have made no changes since i set them, but it stinks. Is this something i should be worried about? or is it just excess glue burning off or something like that? Please help. Thanks

Just turn it down a little... If you are SURE its not clipping, they should be able to take 600w each.

well i ran one off 800 watts rms for about 2 months with no problems. Now they are only getting 600, so i think im safe, i just wanted to make sure.

Wierd. my subs never made a smell. Havent had any problems w/ any smells since i have had my system. Its most likely the glue burning.
