Am I the only one happy about this? Guess no one had to have any surgery's done while they weren't under mommy and daddy's health care and were at a point in their life where they didn't have health care.
It's pretty bullshit that when you have to have your appendix taken out to save your life then you owe around $35,000...yep, that's pretty sweet.

Your appendix and the fact that you have never saved any money throughout your life isnt my problem, and it shouldnt be my place to pay for your surgery.

how are you supposed to argue with people who start the debate being intellectually dishonest? people who oppose the government option reform aren't saying that healthcare is great the way it is. there has to be a way to regulate, or de-regulate, using the government as a tool, not creating a government insurance corporation, spawned by a government that has been riddled with corruption for 40+ years. i argue that giving a corrupt government direct control over a billion+ dollar industry is just plain ignorant. we complain about "special interest" and "lobbyists", yet allow them even more power in all of these large bills. are we really that stupid?

Apparently people don't read through threads. It wasn't me that had this happen to it was someone I know...my older brother. He didn't have insurance at that point in time of his life.

Please don't make ignorant remarks about me, my spending/saving habits, and who I am. Who are you to say that I don't have any savings... that's a pretty stupid thing to say as I'm VERY financially secure...Mil to mil FTW

i am avidly against government run anything, but that's only 1/2 right imo. no, you shouldn't be forced to pay his bills, but getting 3 stitches isn't 600$ worth of medical either (cost me that last year). the system needs fixed, just not by creating a huge government insurance corporation to do it.

Do you think the current insurance companies are any better than the government? are you really that naive? A low-cost government option would FORCE competition, driving down health care costs.

Are you worried about the regulations introduced? You do realize that regulation is good, right? Did you ever learn anything at school? Any idea of what the meat we consumed prior to the meat inspection act (ever heard of that?) went through?

Don't like that we're forcing American's to have health insurance? You realize that we're paying for all the people without health insurance yet are guaranteed health care, again driving costs up?
