I was hoping to get some more specific info on why this particular unit is a holy grail. I had a few boom boxes in my day, a couple as large and appearing to be as elaborate as this one. I was just curious if the speakers were some high quality drivers you might have specs on, or something of that nature. It's a late 70's model and is one of a handful of models that get put in the holy grail category. It's built like a tank and they go for around $100 not even working and parts missing.
Cool, thanks for posting it up. Yeah, in the late 80's I would have creamed my shorts over that thing. Even if it only had a single tape deck. Direct copies from one tape to another was 'hi fidelity' back then. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifHonestly, I'm not sure as it's not an area I'm too familiar with. I saw it at a yardsale and grabbed it thinking it might be worth a couple bucks, dug around and found references in collectors forums about it being one of the sought after models. My guess is it's because it's one of the first elaborate style that came out at the start of the craze, it's high quality, and not so common.
Ah the good old days...And it uses only 36 D batteries!
