for the jensen 600 6 channel amp to turn on i have to have some strands of the power wire in the remote wire terminal for it to turn on and function. Is this normal?

That will cause your amp to be on all the time...

Dont do that, install your remote wire to a 12v source that remains constant while the ignition is turned (ignition fuse, REM on HU, ignition wire)...

Dude you need to run the REM from the HU so when the HU turns on it turns the amp on LOLOLOL

well if you do it that way, your amp will always be on and you will run down your battery until its dead. hook it up to the headunit so that it only turns on your cd player is on

the remote wire is comming from the headunit tho is the thing. hooked right in to the blue wire on the back and not the antena one. what could be wrong

Check to see if your HU has a setting were you can switch it on. I think my HU does but I cant remeber for sure. Dont have any amps hooked up right now to worry about.

so this being hooked up wrong could that be why i had to send my directed 1100 in? because of this remote wire? because on that amp i dindt connect the power to the terminal at all.

Test the wire from your HU with a DMM. Make sure it is seeing a 12v signal when on.

yep fixed it. the remote wire was pulled loose in the back of the headunit. thankz guys

Just for future reference...easy way to trouble shoot this is to grab a DMM and make sure the REM wire is sending 12V to the amplifier.

whats a price for a cheap one of those? about? for future refrence. I sent my directed in with 15 dollars for shipping because it is under warranty to dei. Should i let them bench test it and what not to make sure there is nothing wrong? or should i just tell them to send it back? im curious about this. IM paying for my stupid mistake.
