The government is not calling the shots, there are other people who are hidden behind the scenes who are calling the shots. It was as true 60 years ago as it is today. As for closeminded don't argue this. You have your views and they have theirs you think they're closeminded while they think you're closeminded. Both sides have accepted certain evidence and used it to form a conclusion or belief. The whole liberal and conservative thing is a joke. Liberals can be closeminded and conservatives can be open minded.
