Advising to use http://www.heatware.com I think is better than any rep system. It's like ebay feedback. You can check and email all the references listed in their feedback if you don't know them.

ok let me put it this way. Last reply cause im done arguing. The system is there for shits and giggles cause the people on this forum made it into that. If you really think goob brought the system into our forum because he wanted everyone to have an enjoyable time repping each other and seeing "hey i repped you now rep me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif " and wasteing the forums bandwidth on even more useless thread than, well your most likely wrong. And whoever creates 50 accounts to rep themselves is truly the biggest idiot scammer alive, i mean whos gonna waste there time?Plus you can only rep one name at atime, so hell take forever to get himself up there. If you see phat illusion with 9 stars and me with 1 and we both are selling the same product for the same price, who would you go with? No scammer is gonna stay around here forever to get a rep system up to scam people cause all his work is down the drain as soon as he screws the first person. the problem is that the system is very flawed and easy to take advantage of with no repricussions for doing such. Any system set out public with the same amount of flaws and loopholes will get treated this way. Thats just how it is. Same thing happens in the real world. When people learn how to manipulate and take advantage of a good thing, THEY DO! Then they tell others who do it too. Facts are that within a certain number of people many will have different levels of IQ, Different reactions to stimulus, different ideas on life, etc, etc. It was setup up for failure right from the beginning. Whether Goob intended for it or not. If a system doesn't have checks and balances, as well as consequences for abuse, and a way to contest then it will fail.

I'm not saying he put it there specifically for that purpose, but I know goob is a smart enough guy to know it would not be a valid feedback system. I think anyone who knows this "rep" system knew from day one it would turn into this.

Apparantly you arent familiar with scammers. This same strategy is very popular with ebay scammers, they will make many accounts, actually LIST ITEMS from one account, buy them with the others and leave lots of positive feedback JUST to make one big scamming sale before they are shut down. You grossly underestimate scammers if you think they wouldnt do that if people all judged a seller on "rep" points.

Plus you can only rep one name at atime, so hell take forever to get himself up there.

It only takes 5 minutes tops to make a new name, I bet somebody could build up a few blocks within a few hours.

but seriously, being an intelligent person, I would look at refs and feedback, I would go with whoever has the most/best. I would NEVER look at anonymous rep to judge a buyer/seller. All it takes to get a high rep is to go on one of the "rep threads" and rep a bunch of people and ask to be repped back.

No, I look at it as a joke because I understand the way it works. Look at the "rep thread" for 2 minutes. People asking to be reped, people throwing rep around like it was going out of fashion etc... anyone can see it is a joke, end of story.

the whole rep thing may have gotten out of hand a little bit. but the thing that matters is you dont really need rep to know that you are a respected member of the forum. some people will be ***** and neg rep people for stupid things but it shouldnt matter too much because the the people who know you know your a good dude

It's almost like those that have vast amounts of rep aren't the ones to be reputable, and those without (or with significantly less) are.
