Essay Vs. Write-up.

Last night I wrote a 2.5K word write-up, and no problem. I didn't even think about it until after wards where I threw it into my word processor and it counted 2.5K words.

Now I have to write a 1K word essay and I'm dreading it. I know 1K isn't that much...

But I have to review a concert.

How can you review a concert in 1K words? I can barely do 500 words ATM. I'm starting to make up shit.

I get stuck every 50 words or so... and then I come up with something to BS some more.

There's only maybe 500 words that are good info in this whole thing.

I mean, how much can you write about a 30 minute performance?

250 or so words on the place, 250 words or so about the band... That's a good 500. The other 500 is gunna be PURE B.S.. Anyone have some good insight on what I can BS in this essay? 'cause I'm at another block at 704 words.

a) lotteries advertise in the slums

b/c) financial services advertise to those who are facing corporate buyouts and those with 401(k)s.

That actually sounds pretty interesting. I wouldn't mind writing about that too much. Advertising is all about audiences. No use in advertising to people who aren't interested. Or, rather, no use in advertising to people who MIGHT not have an interested. It's all about tryin' to find the best place that will invoke the most reaction.

Can you find something to talk about beyond the actual music? (if you haven't already) Things like the lighting or stage setup, presentation, etc..

Maybe parking a *****...

How about talking about ties to similar groups. Any classic influences you may have noticed. I could write that in an hour if the band was any kind of decent.

And the craziest essay I ever wrote was 1000 words on why people should shun clowns. Was pretty good if I say so myself.

should have taken a real music class for your fine arts requirement. Or maybe an intro to theatre class so you have some more concrete stuff to write on.
