Im going to be buying a new head unit, amp, and sub for my car, and i want to be able to control the sub somewhat from the dash. I was looking at an equalizer. I was wondering if the clarion EQS746 was good. and if you can turn your sub volume way down, but still have your speakers loud. Because i want bass for when i listen to rap, but i want to be able to turn my sub way down when i listen to rock or other music where i dont want as much bass. And i was wondering if any of the cheaper eq's were any good. like the boss EQ1208, this, or this.

or is there any other way to turn my sub way down or off when listening to music where you want bass?

most new amps have a remote gain knob, most new decks have a sub level control, no eq needed

the amp im getting doesnt have remote gain, and im getting the deck from a friend, so im not sure if it has that much control. i think its a couple years old

u can turn down just the sub with the clarion and most other EQ's.

i had one of those clarions about 2 yrs ago and theyre pretty nice EQ's.

how far can you turn it down? can you turn it completely down, so you can hardly even hear it?

sub setting should could down to a level called att, which gives the sub no signal which makes it not put out anything.
