Either setting better response curves for your setup, taming possible harsh resonances, or if you're competing, tuning the system for a flat frequency response on pink noise.

an equalizer will help most people, if you have access to an RTA to set it up properly, as it's difficult to do by ear

Best thing would be to check and see if the local shops have one you could use. They are expensive to buy......cheapest is around $300
