equalizer question

wtf is i be doin wrong bruddah? anyway, i just bought an audiosource eq off ebay. thing is very nice but i can't figure out how to hook it up. what i did was, i hooked up the eq up to the cd output and put it inline before the cd player (i had to use rcas instead of my trusty FO cable). the thing is, there is very little sound (-0 db sounds like -50 regularly). how am i supposed to wire it up? it makes sense that the eq needs the signal of the cd player to "eq", but how do i go about doing it?

get me a picture of the rear.

there should be an input, and then there should be some sort of gain match for the amp. that might be your problem.

thats the best i can do. 2maro morning i'll have what each set says. i can't personally take a pic of it cause my dad took it with him and my sister when she moved into her dorm

nm i figured it out, i was using it as a monitor setup and that was killing the gain. but on a related note, i can already tell the sq is not tehre when i use the eq (running analog rcas) versus my trusty fiber optic cable...anyway to improve quality if i wanna keep the eq inline (i don't need it, well i shouldn't need it anyway)?
