EQ suggestions/help

I've always used the eq on my aftermarket HU's, but I am debating on getting a seperate eq specially since I am using my factory hu. My set up is in my sig, it's not much so was wondering if I would even benefit from getting one. I have no experience in them so I don't really know what to look for when choosing, so any suggestions would be nice? Even though I am only using my front and sub channel on my amp, I would like the eq to be able to run all 5 channels just in case I decide to use the rear. Thanks

Yes. I would get something like an EQX. I have a factory HU and I added some comps to my single sub setup and they didn't sound right at first. After doing extensive research, I realized that my HU overcompensates for stock speakers EQ wise and thus the comps were off. After adding the EQX, setting my gains and tweaking some levels, I'm much closer to where I want to be musically. IMO, if keeping your HU, you need something like this. Now, you don't have to go Audiocontrol, but get something that has a line driver/eq/cross over. The crossover part isn't as essential because in the EQX it's very limited and your amps probably offer that anyway.

Thanks, I was looking at some of the products AudioControl has to offer. Seems they are a pretty decent company, what's the main difference between the eqx, eql, and lcq models? I'm in mix of researching that, but figured I would ask also! Now if I did go with something like that, would I basically not have to use my Pac Soem-t LOC?

Check out this page Trunk Mount Equalizers

Should list the differences. Example: I went w/ the EQX for a line driver and EQ functionality. I was not aware that the xover functionality was that limited. I am not dissatisfied with my choice, however. Also, I went used. There was one in the classifieds a few weeks ago and you might want to list a WTB thread if considering.

You can also call Audiocontrol and go through your goals and see which of their products works best.
