EQ question

Hey all, I'm thinking about buying a half-din eq to put below my HU. I'm just looking to get alittle more fine tuning. I'm probably looking to spend about $100 to 150. Do these actually help improve the SQ? Is the improvment enough to make it worth the cost?

I'm currently running a pioneer 7400mp, hifonics 1000W brutis for the 2 CVR's and a 600W kenwood for the viper 650.2's up front.

Thanks

To me it would depend on why you want the EQ? If you want control over more than just like 5-8 bands, I would get an Audiocontrol one for your trunk. If you don' t need that much control, and probably want to raise your pre-out voltage, go with the 1/2 din one. I know the elicpse 1/2 din eq has 5v pre-outs, but only 5 band control (iirc). This type of control may be found in your headunit though

btw, that led show is great! how many tickets has it cost ya?

i have a 1/2 din eq that i use only for my subs. I have the remote out connected to my sub amp so if i dont want my bass to bump (when i get close to where im parking) i turn off my eq. Also, it has 7 volt preamps, the only difference between my HU's 2 volt outs and my EQ's 7 volts, is that a lower note hits deeper. Also, before i had to have my volume up loud to set off car alarms, now i can have it lower and set them off. It's fun too, I recommend every one try it.

Sounds like you need to reset your gains........
