Entry-Level Bike

Trueee.
Oh, this is pretty exciting. (It may seem lame... but I'm stoked to start saving money and look like a badass whilst doing it)

A used '07 shouldn't be too expensive. Everything loses A LOT of value once it's off the lot. So, score for me.

And Scoobydoo, I don't like the look of the first one... but the second one is better. Still too bulky. The look I REALLY like is the one in the picture of the '07 Ninja.
The picture you are talking about is the 08.

You aren't going to find a bike with that style for less than a new Ninja 250.

Yeah. My bad.

I'm coming to realize that. I really like that look. And 3.5K for a brand new bike isn't a bad deal. 'specially if I can find one where someone thought they wanted it, and decided against it after they bought it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

But, I'll have to shop around my area to try to get a good price... after I talk to my Mom. Since I have to stay here while I go to College, I still have to listen to her. Free room + board = win. Rules = Loss.

And honestly you probably would be fine on a 600cc.
How big are you, if you don't mind me asking?

I don't mind at all.

I should've explained that in the OP. The reason I don't mind getting a 250cc is because of my size. I'm 5'5" 115 pounds. I'm a small little person. The reach from my heel to my crotch is about 30", which, I looked, is about the height from the ground to the seat of the 250R. I'm a teeny-tiny person. 600cc is wayy too much for me... at least for a starter bike. I might wang it later! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/driving.gif.c4dead4599dda895032b63e51f52b126.gif

Laugh it up, lol!

Should have known better anyway posting that. Didn't even think of it till I posted it. I said fuk it!

Anyway, holy shit, I think my left testicle weighs as much as you!

Yeah 250 should be perfect for you. Or one of those little power wheels. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Har-Har. At least I know the difference between "to" and "too"

(In case you don't know, it's 'sold TO' not 'sold too')

well, now that the 08' 250r ninja came out, you can find the 07- years cheaper now.

im not sure on the east coast, but here in the bay area california, i see kawasaki ninja 250 start from $1k up to 2500 for the 2007 model. excellent choice for a starter, cheap on insurance, and chances are you will tip over the bike sooner or later. imagine that happening to your new 2008 if u got that. a friendly reminder: make sure you save funds for good gear.

+big shame on trying to sell a noob rider a gsxr750:rolleyes:

i would go against 600cc supersports. but along the lines of fzr600, gs500, ninja 500, etc will all do. he is a brand new rider and no way a gsxr600, 600rr, r6, etc will do him any good:crazy: the OP did mention high gas prices and the 250 is very good on that aspect

Yep and when he is kicking himself for not getting something bigger when he wants it and he is riding around on a 250, although he is a midget, so.......

I started on dirtbikes and even though it is different, I was fine on my 1100 Honda Hurricane. I am a bigger guy and anything under 500cc is way to small for me and not enough power.

That's true. But the '07 Ninjas are so ugly. I think I'd rather pay for repairs on a nice bike then not caring on an ugly bike. But that's just my $.02
