As everyone knows... Gas is Expensive.

And, well, me being a College Student (W00t!... not really. In 3 weeks I graduate High School //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif), I need all the money I can get.

I was thinking about getting a nice little motorcycle. I don't like the 'chopper'/cruiser look. I like the crotch-rocket look, and I really can't drive a bike with out one.

This is my first bike, fyi. The only thing close to this, experience wise, is I'm a pro with an ATV. But that's completely different.

I was kinda thinking this for now... and fix it up:

That kinda looks like a pocket bike. But I'm not sure?

or a nice older Ninja. Though that's kinda costly. I mean, worth it. But still.

EDIT:: BTW-- I'm 5'5" and ~115 pounds. I'm tiny... so 250cc is about perfect for me.

That doesn't look like a full size bike. Looks like one of the little mini rockets.

I don't have a bike, but if you are looking for something cheap get a Ninja 250. You can find them for a couple grand even with low miles.

don't try to pawn off your motorcycle on some beginner. a Gixxer is too fast and too powerful for someone is beginning to ride, and not practical if someone just wants a fun time and high gas mileage.

This is the second time you've self promoted your bike. I'm not saying it's a bad bike. It's a great bike. But the fact that your trying to pawn it off on some inexperienced rider, then you will most likely get him killed.

So stop being a douchebag, and sell it so someone who can treat it and handle it with respect.

A ninja is a great bike to learn on. It will go fast enough to get out of the way, and will get you great gas mileage. I'm actually thinking about getting one this summer.

I was just thinking that, konechiwa... I'm pretty sure The '750' means '750cc' Which is nuts. I want between a 200 to MAX 400cc. It's my first bike for Christ's sake, and I'm a teenager. Think about the insurance! D:!!!

But, I've always liked Ninjas.

This is the only one selling ATM:

Looks like it could use some TLC.

I'm still just throwing this idea around, trying to get some names of some Bikes, look at their prices, and learn more about them before I decide.

Gunna talk to my Moms tomorrow to see if she will put down some $ as my graduation present.

a 2008 250R costs 3499 MSRP.

If you want it as your daily transportation, I'm sure you could swing that.

Well... I'm not sure. I'd want to keep my car, and drive my car whenever I need to drive someone around or something... or I don't feel like riding my bike. You know what I mean?

3.5K for a brand new bike isn't bad. But I saw on another post something someone posted, that I agree with: for your first bike, it's better to buy used than new. Don't wanna rag a new bike.

and at $3.5K I'd have to sell my car. It'd take me far too long to save up $3.5K.

look into older bikes, they arent as fast as newer bikes

i had a 88 honda hurricane and i loved it, not too fast, not too slow and reliable

unfortunately i traded it in for a 900rr in about 94 and decided to sell that soon after before i killed myself

And they look so much better than earlier models...

2007-

That does look sexy. The exact look I want. But, 3.5K is so much D:

That's from the dealer, right? So I can put like 2K down or something and then finance the rest?

yep. You could probably get a deal on a 2007, or buy one used.
Trueee.

Oh, this is pretty exciting. (It may seem lame... but I'm stoked to start saving money and look like a badass whilst doing it)

A used '07 shouldn't be too expensive. Everything loses A LOT of value once it's off the lot. So, score for me.

And Scoobydoo, I don't like the look of the first one... but the second one is better. Still too bulky. The look I REALLY like is the one in the picture of the '07 Ninja.
