enough power????

im running 2 wires from the battery, an 8 gauge for the 4 channel and a 4 gauge for the mono block. I forgot to mention i also have a cap which i dont think they do anything. Would the red top still be fine cause i herd a lot of bad stuff about them and some good stuff.

If you have problems upgrade to one wire of 0 gauge to a distro block and feed 4 gauge to each amp. If you still have problems do the big 3, if you still do then get an alt lol.

Unless you aren't talking about dimming problems, then you are wrong.

Upgrading the wire to the amps will not help dimming problems. All this does is decrease total resistence to your amp, so your amp itself does't see a voltage drop. The wire has to be heavy enough to allow all current that your amp needs through it without dropping the voltage or melting the outer jacket. Not having big enough wire between your battery and you amp will only effect power to the amp itself, or anything connected to that line of wire. Now, nobody wants less voltage at their amp, but this is not something that helps dimming.

Here's why upgrading big 3 does work:

You want to have as little resistence as possible between sources, because you don't want a little thin wire to drop the voltage from the alternator down for the entire system (because the entire electrical current is being pulled from this alternator wire). This is why you have a big wire going straight from your alternator to your battery terminal. You do the same for ground because the little stock wire can add resistence, and drop overall voltage. The same reason is for your alternator to ground, because the connection is weak, and it could lead to less voltage then desired.
