Enough power for a jl 12w3v3-4?

Im adding 1 12" jl 12w3, will an alpine mrp m500 have enough power so the sub is not underpowered? I can just get the 4 ohm JL and run it at 2ohm and get 500 rms correct?

You cannot underpower a sub. 500 should be decent, and get 4 gauge wire. If its a single 4 ohm voice coil woofer you cant make it 2 ohm, you will need a dual 4 ohm.

If its a single 2 ohm voice coil then yes. Id go with dual though, because you may change things out over time or add another one so your options will be greater with the different wiring ability's. But its also easier to go with a single voice coil.

i ran one off the mrp m400 and it was fine, id say go 4 gauge since you might want to upgrade in the future.

ok so should I get the 2ohm version and use the mrp m500 amp? what would be the point of getting the single coil 4ohm sub instead?
