Just watch your voltage and throw the batts on charge when necessary.

alternators are not meant to completely charge the batteries...just keep them maintained I guess you can say. XS always says that you have to charge the batteries to completely top them off and to get max performance/life out of them

I know that but I just think he would be better off with a 250amp alt or higher. It would be something he never has to worry about again.

what do you have under the hood? I'm pretty sure that would be enough with the 3100 in the back close to the amp

I dont have the alt but the dc 185 amp is half the price of their 250 amp.... I guess I will just go all out and get the 250 amp alt and run the 2 d3100's...

I've never heard of someone messing up their alt or batteries the way he is saying.....do what you want, but you don't need the 250amp. It would be nice if you decide to upgrade amps in the future. If not the 185 would work just fine

im a little torn here... so many opinions... I think i will go the safe route and get the mechman 270 amp alt with the d3100's... i would rather be safe than sorry and if I ever decide to run my apxx18 on 5k I will be able to do it...

I have a friend who messed up one via 160amps and having 3 massive batts and another was just a dud but it does happen and I assure that it drains the life of your alt when you work it hard as hell. Like amps its the same some head room never hurts and with alts headroom is a nice thing to have.

Im running my 3 XS D3400s on a 200 amp and my voltage is more stable then it has ever been. They really are bad *** batts
