Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and know very little about speakers. Knowing this please do not use too many if any technical terms.
I recently purchased 2 10in JL W3v2 subs and a Phoenix Gold 800W class D amp. The 2 subs operate optimaly at 700 wats. My CD deck provides 50W x 4 makeing a total of 1000W.
My plan is to hook both the CD deck and AMP to a crossover. I would then direct 100W to my cd deck giveing it 300W to distribute among the four interior speakers.
I have been told that a better way todo this is to have a second amp that my four speakers would connect to. Although I would like to do this I am currently on a budget and would like to have good quality sound with alot of base while not haveing to sell a kidney to set up my car's stereo system.
Questions:
1.) If my interior speakers take less than or equal to 300W will this setup be fine?
2.) If the watage suggested for my four interior speakers at how much over does this usualy become a problem?
3.) Any suggestions or remarks would be helpful.
