after replacing the distrubuter cab, roter , ignition module and ignition coil with higher than stock performance parts a noise was introduced into the factory radio system. the factory system in my 88chevy truck consisted of a radio control unit..a separate casette unit..and a "brain" amp. the speakers were just as old as the truck and radio.

ive removed all the old stuff prepairing to install a new HU. speakers. amp, sub. odds are the noise will still be there. so aside from replacing the new tune up parts what can i do to eliminate the whine.

The kind of noise you're talking about is ignition noise. One of the best things you can do is use high grade ignition wires, and possibly resistor type spark plugs which are designed to minimize RFI generated by the spark.

Other than that, during your install pay close attention to how you ground the HU and amp and don't cheap out on cheesy RCA cables.

what got me was that it apeared after doing the ignition, before replacing the plugs and wires..and didnt disapear after doing plugs and wires..now they werent high dollar plugs and wires..stock replacement ac delco plugs and stock replacement nappa resistor wires.

so i should run a new ground from the HU..not use the one in the vehicle wireing harness?

i hope the rca s i got arent cheesy...knukoncept.
