engine whine and interference

Hi all - got a problem that hopefully fixable:

Just installed my sub box with 2x12" infinity subs pushed by a 1400w infinity amp, front components pushed by a sony 222w amp all linked to a Pioneer CD-625 3-Way electronic crossover.

Thing is I have a lot of engine whine and interferance that I can't get rid of...... any ideas?

Try unplugging RCAs until the sound goes away. Start with the HU. Unplug the inputs to the crossover. If the noise goes away, its a problem with the HU (usually the ground isn't as good as it should be). If the noise is still there unplug the outputs to the crossover one at a time. If the noise goes away the crossover is the issue. If the noise is still there the amp is the problem.

Cheers mate.... a process of elimination...... I also have seen the sticky about engine whine and shall be trying a few of those things too.....
