Engine Noise?

When my headunit is turned off, I can hear the engine noise on my mids when I press on the gas pedal. Not sure if it's coming from the mids, but I know it's coming from somewhere in the front.

My ground wires are grounded under the backseat. Both 4-channel and mono amps are grounded to the same place. The noise doesn't really bother me when the headunit is on, but it does when it's off.

i have the same problem and my amps are grounded at the battery and the back battery is grounded to the front battery and the front battery is grounded in stock location, although i have cheap rca's and they are by the power wire and i am using a loc that might be my problem

however yours might be if the rcas are by the power wire

if the amp is off then it cant be from rcas... might have exposed speaker wire. or the terminals on the speaker could be to close to metal... not really sure. try putting electrical tape on the speaker terminals.

I don't know, my speaker wires are covered with electrical tape.

yes, the amp is off when the stereo is off. however, the noise still occurs even when the headunit and amps are on....

you sure it's actually coming from the speakers and not from your engine?

not totally sure, it's hard to tell while driving. i never noticed it until recently when a 4-channel amp was installed.

well then it's not engine noise coming in through your speakers it's actually something in your engine causing the high pitched sound.
