well shit...ur alt is a little easier to get to than mine, i can't say for sure by the pics alone but my alt is at least another 6 inches under where yours is, and i have way more shit in the way of it i'll give it a 100% try when i get back home and if I can't get it I'll post some pics

electrical tape...

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy some electrical heat shrink tubing, like this. You'll also need a lighter or a small butane torch. I've seen sizes up to 2/0. They're just a few bucks for a pack.

I prefer electrical tape... It usually looks really clean, that was just a bad tape job.

And guys, any idea how/where to start for alt. to battery +? Jack up the car?

That's the point. It will always get loose over time and it is not as insulating as a shrink tube. And it doesn't look clean. It looks like a patch job.

Looks good man, don't worry about the tape either it looks fine. for the alt + it looks like its gonna be a bish on yours. You gotta get to the back of your alt, it might be easier to take yours off. Once you get behind the alt locate the bolt with the single positive wire coming from it. than rig up a ring terminal, 1/0, and fuse, than attach to battery +.
