enclosure size.....?

when it comes to ported boxes, is it best to go as big as possible or is there a specific size for each driver? i have 2 12" sx's but i was thinking of using only one in a 2.5 ft^3 box tuned at 32hz. i already have an ED 9.1 that i was planing on using on this sub.

Depends on what you want to do, and if you want to go ported or sealed.

Larger sealed alignments have better low frequency response at the cost of high frequency reproduction and power handling.

Higher tuning frequency results in a "peakier" enclosure with higher overall SPL at the cost of SQ.

well i want it to be loud but have decent sq.......more like sq/spl 60/40

Tune low...go for 28-30Hz.
