Enclosure Design Help for Solo X 12"...

Hello Everyone, I am new to this site and thinking of changing my enclosure to I guess a better one. I have a Kicker Solo X 12" on a Chrysler 300, the box that is in I feel it doesn't sound loud enough. I want the bass to be fealt outside. The box that I have now, the port is facing towards the trunk lid and was thinking if I get a box made with th port direction to be inside the car maybe it will sound louder and travel outside the car but don't know if thats correct. Please help in designing this subwoofer enclosure. Thanks

what cubic feet do you have right now? best results would be sub/port back when i had mine in a trunk car. i run mine now in a 4.75 cube box in a hatchback on a kicker kx2500.1. what amp do you have now as well? max dimensions as well

My box right now is 32w X 21d X 14h Box volume 3.4cuft Tuned 40hz (port facing trunk lid just like the speaker, kicker site recommend 3cuft tuned at 40hz)

Max I can go is 36w x 21d x 16h

Amp I have for it, the same as you. kx2500.1

If you have no idea of what placement or tuning you should use, nor any volume requirements, then I recommend having a designer take care of it for you. Some will do this for free, but be careful...you get what you pay for in most cases.

it all boils down to what model solo x you have. because within the last couple years they changed them. they dropped the ratings on them and now iirc its something like 1500w and 3.0cubes. and its funny how the site says 40hz, but if you call kicker they say 36hz right around there. i have mine now at 33hz. if you want more help bro, pm myself or wickedwitt. he is very very knowledgable about the solox.
