If you had an employee accommodation with KICKER and, you got anything KICKER offered for insanely cheap, would you buy KICKER or look elsewhere?

I am looking mainly for SQ and I find it hard to believe that KICKER has no hope in the SQ arena. It's such a hard decision because I can get 12" L7's for $150, IX Series amps for $150. It's hard not to want KICKER in light of this.

I have $1000 to spend on subs, mono and 4ch amps, and box building materials.

Please give me an opinion...

Kicker makes awesome stuff. Some don't like the sound of their subs, but I personally like the way they sound more than a lot of other main-stream options.

It's dirt cheap... and even though L7s have won SQ comps, doesn't mean it's going to sound good for you. But for that price, I'd get the L7s, they'll be loud, and just tune them lower and they'll sound pretty decent Id imagine.

Kicker would probably remove your accommodation if they knew you were posting prices that are supposed to be kept confidential all over the interwebz.... smarten up and be professional dude.

Next decide if the deals you can get will make or break the system that you want or should you do it a item at a time to get the system that you want. While their subs play loud and yes they can in the right set of circumstances sound good, is it what you need or are you buying the deal. If the deal is not what you need, it is not a good deal and you just wasted your hard earned $.

i'd only run thier amps they always have put out rated and more and are pretty solid ive run from kicker comps all the way to L7s and i was pretty disapointed in them..

take thier amps and look into Sundown, DC soundlabs, FI, Ascendant Audio, etc plenty of non mainstream companies with exeptional equipment.

IMO Kicker CVRs are the best bang for the buck sub out there.

I believe Type R's actually are, although CVR's are mega cheap and do get loud in a good box.....

O.P, I say go with the L7's.....

Thanks a lot everyone for all the opinions. I ended up with going with JL's 13w6v2 and decided to purchase a couple Kicker amps (ZX1000.1, ZX650.4) and a couple sets of their QS components. I appreciate the help.

You work at best buy huh lol? not sure on the ix amps but the zx are great ( are a little power hungry tho). the cones on kicker subs are so **** cheap feeling, not to mention the numerous spider problems on the solo's. there accessories are good tho.

This is MY opinion, take it for what it's worth.

Yeah, I work in the install bay lol. As far as the IX series goes, they took them off the accommodation so, ZX it is. I've never really liked L7's anyway and I know they're way out of the W6's league so, I just splurged a little and got what I really wanted.

A friend of mine has a Solo X and I think it sounds horrible.
