I thought I read somewhere a while ago about doing a mod (using a capacitor??) that eliminates the momentary cut in power to the head unit when the ignition key is turned to start the engine, but I can't seem to find anything about it now.
My head unit is a NAV unit that uses a Windows OS and takes nearly a minute to fully reboot. I would like to eliminate the power cut and reboot that occurs when the engine turns over. Specifically I would like to be able to turn the engine off, leaving the key in the accessory position (maintaining pwr to the head unit) and then restart the engine without having the head unit have to reboot. Any ideas??
