I'd say get a 300 amp alternator and do the big three in 1/0-2/0 wire, and buy a couple big ass batts.

That should be good.

You could probably do alright with a smaller alt if you wanted.

I ran the 3000D at 1 ohm on a stock alty and a NSB 125. I later ran it at .5 ohms on 2 NSB 125s and had enough juice both times. I also had a yellowtop up front, the big 3, and 00 gauge from front to back

Having that for the meantime would I be losing a ton of potential?

well i have like a 105 amp alt and my battery does 700cca.. so pretty basic..
Having that for the meantime would I be losing a ton of potential?

1998 oldsmobile cutlass.. its almost exactly the same as a chevy malibu of the same year

yeah that might not cut it. Just dont run below 2 ohms right away

i wouldnt even try to run a 3k amp off that, unless you want to b replacing equipment soon

I have a yellowtop, a 125 AH battery and a 230 amp alt for 2 1500 watt Sundowns and my voltage holds up just fine. I have the big 2 done with 2/0 wire .

You'll more than likely kill the amp if you don't address the charging system first.

upgrade your alt and get a nice batt bank. 2-4 batts

we're doin a 10k system off a 220 amp alt (biggest we can get for the car) + 5 31series intimidator batts and a couple runs of 1/0 to the batt bank. Hopefully that will get us daily @ 2 ohm and .5 for burps

Yeah i guess I can just start on that first then, id rather have it done right and have things last.

Do you know of a site i can get a decent alt for my car? Ive checked a few places and none of them fit my car.

and also how many feet of wire is the big 3 usualy?
